New Ideas

I know that I'm already working on (or should be) my sequel, but, I've had ideas bouncing around my head, and I want to get them down on paper (or an equivalent, I guess) before I forget them! Anyway, I'm not sure what inspired this, except that it has a similar concept to some of C.S. Lewis's writing.

Anyway, the idea is for a dual protagonist story (hopefully easier than what I've been attempting with Alan' Journey ) in which the two characters do not know or maybe only slightly know of each other in the beginning. Life is normal, things are "hunky-dory", and each of their lives is straightforward (I know, boring ). The twist? - A parallel universe. This is how the two characters would meet. Suddenly, they would find themselves in this alternate reality. They would meet in this place, and get to know one another, while wondering about life at "home". At some point, not through a portal or white hole, but almost instantly and without apparent reason, they would be thrown back into the "disappointing" reality of...... well....... reality. :-)

The logistics would be the difficult part. I'm thinking maybe fear, and then a sense of relaxation on either parties behalf would either plummet them into this new dimension, or throw them back into "real life", but I'm not sure yet. The characters would learn to control this specific feeling, and therefore be able to control how they came between the two universes. Time, age, and skills would also play into this. I'm thinking that the time on earth would stand still while they were in the other reality, and then resume when they came back (for the protagonists, no one on "earth" would notice the change). Their bodies would not age in the new universe, yet any skills they learned, strength they gained, or knowledge or experience they acquired would remain with them when they came back to earth. Objects could be taken into or out of this reality if they were on the person or in the person's hand, but other people or animals (things with life) could not be brought.

Still not one-hundred percent on all of this, if you have an idea, drop me a comment or an email ( texasah11@gmail.com ), I would love to compile a bigger list, and recognize some people for ideas.

Oh, and I think that if one of the two characters were to be thrown into the reality, then the other would be as well, adding some fun, and maybe a layer of contention that needs to be addressed, or maybe that the characters don't find an issue with, because it doesn't affect their time line on earth. I'll have to think about that.....

Anyway, I've written my ideas down, again, I would love feedback or input, so please let me know what you're thinking if you have any idea you want to share.

Y'all have a great day!!

Probably not going to be a wormhole in it, but, it's a cool image, what can I say?
