We Have Hope!

So often, I talk with people who have doubted their faith at some point. Whether for a day or two, an hour, or a week, it has probably happened to nearly every Christian. For those of you who have never experienced doubt of your faith at some point in your life, good for you......................and hang on, it will most likely come. Everyone is scared of these doubts, admittedly, I have been as well. How we resolve these doubts, is the important part. We can't just sweep them under the rug and "come back to them when I'm a better Christian", or worse, "later". When this happens, the best things we can do include prayer, reading our Bible, and, best of all, talking to a Christian mentor about your doubts. Don't keep it inside.
I gave a simple solution, but I know I'm not the first to give that solution. Tonight at church, as my father was preaching in Romans chapter 8, two verses jumped out at me(not literally). Verses 24 and 25 struck me a little differently.
24)For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
We can be certain that Christ's blood is enough to cover our sins and give us entrance to heaven. However, there is also an element of hope that is there. We are hoping for the grandness of heaven, but it wouldn't be hope if we saw it and knew it would happen. Hope is a great thing. It's what drives us to do certain tasks. We work out, or go running in hope that we will lose weight and grow stronger, but we don't get to see the results until later(aside from sweat and pain).
As we hope for the kingdom of heaven and the rewards of eternity, we need to act as if we have a hope. We need to share the good news, strive to become Christ-like, and try to help those who are currently doubting. Most of all, we need to pray for those around us.
Enjoy these thoughts and act as if you were driven by hope!
