Book II - Making Slow Progress!!

Updated: Jan 9, 2020

As I said in my last post, I'd received a kick in the pants about working on my book. Keeping with that spirit, I've been making decent progress on the book! Instead of just telling you about it, though, here's a part of a scene I'm going to be including in it! (for those of you have more access to it, this isn't in there "officially" yet......) It's a small excerpt, but gives you a little bit of flavor of some of the content, especially if you've never read my first book!

George began to tire, and knew he couldn’t keep fighting much longer. He searched his mind for any sort of combination that might bring him the victory. Suddenly he remembered something. He clenched his jaw and began to prepare. After he blocked two more of (his opponent's) cuts, he started to leave an opening in his defense, hoping that (his opponent) would take the opportunity. He saw (his opponent) pull back after a cut and knew he was setting up for a thrust. As soon as saw (his opponent) angle the blade as you would for a thrust he ducked and dove forward below where he knew (his opponent's) sword would be. He rolled into a somersault and carried it into a low squatting position that would set him up facing (his opponent). As soon as he stopped sliding backwards he picked up his head and went to dart towards (his opponent's) back, but suddenly he became aware of the tip of a sword at his throat.

Well, there it is! For those of you who don't know or don't remember, George Porter (the Pastor's son) played a smaller role in the last book. He was a good friend to Alan at one point when Alan was injured.

Anyway, I'm going to get back over to writing some more of the story, so I wish y'all a good night and a good day tomorrow!
